What is staring contest rules?

A staring contest is a game between two people where they compete to see who can maintain eye contact without blinking for the longest time. Here are some typical rules of a staring contest:

  1. Participants sit facing each other, maintaining a steady gaze with their eyes.

  2. The participants are not allowed to move, touch their faces or communicate with each other during the contest.

  3. Any eye irritation, such as tearing up or blinking too fast is considered a loss.

  4. The first one to blink or look away from the opponent, even for a split second, loses and the other participant is declared the winner.

  5. The winner is usually decided by a referee or a third-party judge, although some contests are self-judged.

  6. If both participants manage to maintain an unbroken stare for an extended period, the contest may be declared a draw.
